YSR 50/80 Brake Rebuild Caliper Kits Instructions
Hello!
Our supplier was kind enough to send along a help sheet and photos for these YSR Brake Rebuild Caliper Kits that they'll send to their customers, as well. This is a mod he does to the original boot retaining circlip which can help stop the circlip from crossing over and making the dust boot protrude in that area.
Directly from our supplier:
"Firstly the outer dust seal and piston should be fitted before beginning, for clearer pictures I have removed the piston on the instructions.
For ease of fitting I would advise removal of 3mm or so of the circlip (1) to prevent overlap when fitted.
If you do not have a circlip it is worth checking inside the groove first as when the seal is pulled out the circlip can remain inside (2).
I would advise lightly greasing the seal using red rubber grease (only) as this will aid assembly.
Start by placing one end of the circlip on inside lip (3) closest to the outer of the boot to hold it in place and then work the circlip around and into the seal lip groove as shown in pictures 4/5/6.
VERY CAREFULLY! once the circlip is secured initially into the seal lip groove then use a flat blade screwdriver (7) or similar too to help locate the circlip correctly into the boot lip groove and to locate any of the boot which may be protruding from the casing. If the circlip is overlapping some of the boot will not be able to be correctly located as it will be forced out slightly, this can be adjusted or remedied by shortening the clip by a further small amount.
Once completed the boot will be correctly secured (8)"
